Yarm School is an independent private day school in Northeast England which provides education to boys and girls from age 3 to 18.
The school is located in the attractive market town of Yarm, set in stunning landscaped grounds with a number of listed buildings spread across the 18-acre Friarage site.
The Senior School sits within the designated boundary of Yarm Conservation Area, with a number of areas of significant archaeology, protected ecology and habitat species, complex topography and flood risk from the nearby River Tees.
The school has undergone a major refurbishment in recent years, including the addition of a state-of-the art 750-seat performance venue called Princess Alexandra Auditorium and a contemporary 120-seat Music School extension to the Grade II listed Friarage.
The dining hall is the main congregational student space for the school and the plans seek to improve the quality and effectiveness of the existing dining hall, providing further 80 covers during peak lunch time periods at ground floor, and additional math's accommodation on the upper mezzanine floor.
The existing brick gable façade will be modernized to create a double height contemporary curved element sitting proud of the existing building finished off with large vertical metal fins and a laser cut metal school logo.
